STAR SKATE / COMPETITIVE / ADULT SKATE
STAR Skate offers opportunity for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.
The program includes both free skate and independent practice for skaters between lessons. Available by request and payable directly to our coaches, private lessons are available. Typically between 10 and 15 minutes, requests can be made for multiple lessons per skating session.
CCSC coaches are NCCP certified by Skate Canada. Please visit Skate Canada or the bottom of this page for more information about Skate Canada STAR programs.
The 2024/2025 season starts September 3, 2024.
Arenas and times may differ, especially in September. A monthly calendar is published and emailed to all registered skaters once finalized.
2024 / 2025 Schedule
STAR Skate fees are pending final ice allocation from the City. Please note that September ice locations will vary from the Oct - Mar season. The September calendar will be published ASAP.
PreSTAR
Fees* are pending the final season calendar + a mandatory fundraising fee (~$200). Skaters have opportunities to earn back the fundraising fee.
SCHEDULE
Monday: 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Tom Davies Arena (Walden)
Tuesday: 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
Sunday: 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
STAR 1 and STAR 2
Fees* are pending the final season calendar + a mandatory fundraising fee (~$225). Skaters have opportunities to earn back the fundraising fee.
SCHEDULE
Monday: 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. at Tom Davies Arena (Walden)
Tuesday: 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
Sunday: 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
STAR 3 and Up
Fees* are pending the final season calendar + a mandatory fundraising fee (~$275). Skaters have opportunities to earn back the fundraising fee.
SCHEDULE
Tuesday: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
Thursday: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
Sunday: 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
If you register for all three STAR 3+ sessions, you receive a $200 discount!
*For all STAR program registrations, the total fees will include your program session ice, $60 Skate Canada mandatory insurance fee, valid for one year, the applicable fundraising fee, and a $40 Lotto Book for Ontario Skaters Promotional Contest.
