STAR SKATE / COMPETITIVE / ADULT SKATE
STAR Skate offers opportunity for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.
The program includes both free skate and independent practice for skaters between lessons. Available by request and payable directly to our coaches, private lessons are available. Typically between 10 and 15 minutes, requests can be made for multiple lessons per skating session.
CCSC coaches are NCCP certified by Skate Canada. Please visit Skate Canada or the bottom of this page for more information about Skate Canada STAR programs.
Our regular season starts in October, with pre-season skating available in September.
Arenas and times may differ. A monthly calendar is published and emailed to all registered skaters once finalized.
2023 / 2024 Schedule
PreSTAR and STAR 1
Fees are $400 per session + a $175 mandatory fundraising fee. Skaters have opportunities to earn back the $175 fundraising fee.
SCHEDULE
Monday: 5:00pm - 6:00pm at Tom Davies Arena (Walden)
Tuesday: 5:25pm - 6:25pm at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
Sunday: 9:10am - 10:00am at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
STAR 2 and STAR 3
Fees are $500 per session + a $200 mandatory fundraising fee. Skaters have opportunities to earn back the $200 fundraising fee.
SCHEDULE
Monday: 4:30pm - 6:00pm at Tom Davies Arena (Walden)
Tuesday: 5:10pm - 6:25pm at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
Sunday: 9:30am - 10:50am at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
Thursday (SRAR 3+ ONLY) : 5:10pm - 7:00pm at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
STAR 4 and Up
Fees are $625 per session + a $250 mandatory fundraising fee. Skaters have opportunities to earn back the $250 fundraising fee.

Tuesday: 6:35pm - 8:30pm at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
Thursday: 5:10pm - 7:00pm at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
Sunday: 11:00am - 1:00pm at McClelland Arena (Copper Cliff)
If you register for all 3 sessions, you receive a $200 discount!
For all STAR program registrations, the total price will also include your $60 Skate Canada mandatory insurance fee, valid for one year, and a $40 lotto book for fundraising.
